FERRY SCHEDULES

http://www.cranberryisles.com/ferries.html
Please visit this website to view the ferry schedules.
Most of you will be coming from Northeast harbor on the Beal and Bunker mail boat.
If you are coming on Sunday the earliest boat that leaves the harbor is 10am.
There is also a 12pm, a 2pm, a 4pm, and a 6pm departure.
Every other day of the week includes a 7:30am departure.

Those of you coming over on Wednesday for the wedding will want to take the 2pm boat from Northeast harbor. However, the ceremony does not start until 4pm, so you will have about an hour 1/2 on the island before hand. You could use this time to explore the island a bit. Colin and I have gone over a few times to hike around. There will also be many people gathered in the park mingling.

There is also the option to come over on the Southwest harbor ferry that departs 3pm and arrives to the island at 3:40pm. The ceremony site is very close by, just a block to walk. We will post signs pointing to the spot.
However, if you choose to come over on the southwest harbor ferry, you will have to pay for your own water taxi to get home at the end of the night because the last ferry back to that harbor is a 6pm. A water taxi cost 45 dollars one way.
If you choose to come from Northeast harbor, we have arranged for boats to take you back at the end of the evening for free, starting at 8:30-11pm.

There are two water taxi services:
Delight water taxi 207-244-5724
Cadillac water taxi 207-801-1898

BOTH FERRIES HAVE CONNECTION STOPS BEFORE THEY REACH LITTLE CRANBERRY ISLAND. The first stop is for Great Cranberry Island- so obviously, you will want to just sit tight for the first stop.

The Northeast Harbor ferry is 12 dollars one way.
The Southwest Harbor is 15 dollars one way (Southwest is a farther boat ride)
Children under 3 are free for both

For those of you staying on the island for a few days, you will be getting a group discount rate.

PARKING:
in Northeast Harbor
There are two options: You can park in the same lot as the police station which is next to the ferry terminal for a 10 dollar a night fee. OR, you can park in the "Joy lot" which does require a parking sticker. We are trying to obtain those now and will make sure everyone coming has one- there is also a free lot that is first come first serve.
In Southwest Harbor:
There are a few lots that also require 10 dollar fees and there is also a free lot. Please email me if you think you will be parking in Southwest so I can give you directions.

ALL OF THIS INFO IS ON THE WEBSITE I POSTED AT THE TOP OF THIS BLOG.

RSVP, food choices.

We sent out the invitations yesterday morning! We are so pleased with how they came out. Things have come along so quickly- just a few weeks until I will have a husband, and he will have a wife!
Last weekend, we went over to the restaurant to pick out our meal options. On the RSVP, you will see a choice between chicken, fish or vegetarian.
Here is a more detailed explanation of each dish-
the most exciting thing is that all of the ingredients are local, fresh and organic. Even the meat is free range and the fish is local.
chicken: Zoe's Organic Roasted Chicken Tide Mill chicken, creamed corn, sauteed Swiss chard with dark meat chicken. The chicken is roasted crispy and the cream corn is nothing like the cream corn you get out of a can. It is made with heavy cream and fresh corn. This is the heaviest of the three choices, and it was really great.
Fish: Gulf of Maine Halibut white beans, fennel, spring onions. The fish is pan seared with butter and sits atop a bed of white beans, fennel and pesto. So fresh.
Vegetarian: Goat Cheese Polenta "Sandwich" cherry tomato salad, haricot vert.
This is AWESOME. They make a goat cheese polenta cake and fill is with the tomatoes and the haricot vert beans. It is pickley and fresh and light!
PLEASE RSVP soon. We would really like to get an estimate as soon as possible. We asked people to draw us a picture of what love is to them on the back of the rsvp. As many of you know, art is such an important part of our lives and our love. We look forward to seeing how you express it in some abstract form.
I will be posting the parking and ferry schedules in a separate post next week.
For those of you planning to stay in a hotel off of little cranberry island- I can certainly suggest the best locations... but the most important thing is to NOT stay in Bar Harbor. Bar Harbor is a half hour from the ferry. There are two ferry terminals- one is in Southwest Harbor, and the other is in Northeast Harbor. The main land is made up of those three coves. SO, def. look for a place in the two I just mentioned. My second Blog post lists tons of the best options, but if your still wondering where to stay- just email me. lynnslocum@hotmail.com
Also, I'll be seeing many of you at my shower in a couple weeks at mom's house. SO excited!!
Love, Love, Love. Don't forget to RSVP!
